Local SEO Built for Contractors:
Roofing, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, and Painting
When a homeowner needs a roof repaired, a furnace fixed, a drain cleared, an outlet rewired, or a house painted, they grab their phone and search.
The contractors who show up in the Google Map Pack, AI Overview, Ask Maps, and ChatGPT win the job. The ones who do not, do not get the call.
Why Contractors Need a Different Approach

Generic local SEO advice does not work for contractors.
The buying journey is different. A homeowner with a leaking roof at 6 PM is not comparison-shopping ten companies. They are picking from the top three results, calling the one with the most reviews, and booking the service that can come out tomorrow.
The same is true for an HVAC emergency in July, a plumbing leak at midnight, or an electrical problem that just tripped the breaker.
Contractors compete on three things in local search: showing up in the right place at the right time (proximity), being the obvious credible choice once you do show up (reviews + signals), and getting the call before your competitor does (speed of decision). Every part of our work is built around those three.
See Where You Actually Rank: Free Contractor Visibility Audit
You have the license and the years on the job. The question is whether Google knows it.
Send us your business details and we will check how you show up when a homeowner nearby searches for your trade.
We look at your Google Business Profile categories and services, your Yelp presence now that ChatGPT reads it directly, your website, and how you compare to the contractors ranking above you.
What you will get
- Where you show up for the searches that bring your highest-value jobs
- Whether your categories and services are set up to rank, or working against you
- How your Yelp profile looks now that ChatGPT pulls contractor recommendations from it
- What your competitors have that you do not
- What to fix first, whether you work with us or not
Your report arrives by email within two business days. If you want to talk it through, there is a link inside to book a free 30-minute call. That part is optional.
What We Build for Contractors
A Google Business Profile that ranks for the searches you actually want
Most contractors pick one category, fill in the basics, and stop.
Google lets you list up to 6 categories and dozens of services under each one. Each one is another opportunity to show up.
We audit your profile, choose the right primary category for your highest-value service, add every relevant secondary category, and list specific services (water heater installation, AC replacement, panel upgrade, roof inspection, exterior repaint) instead of generic ones (plumbing, HVAC, electrical, roofing, painting).
A website structure that matches your GBP exactly
Your website should mirror your Google Business Profile, not contradict it.
We align every page on your site with a GBP category or service, so Google sees a consistent picture of what you do and where. Inconsistent NAP, mismatched service names, generic city pages: these are the things actively hurting most contractor sites today. We fix them.
Reviews that AI assistants can actually read
Generic five-star reviews do not move the needle anymore.
AI systems read the actual text of reviews looking for matches to what customers are searching for. When someone asks ChatGPT for a same-day plumber, the AI scans review text for mentions of speed.
We help you ask customers for the right kind of review so the social proof you build actually helps you show up in AI recommendations.
Visibility on Bing Places for Business
ChatGPT pulls part of its local business data from Bing Places for Business, and most contractors have never claimed the listing.
Our Growth Plan and Advanced Plan handle the setup as part of the foundation work.
Yelp and ChatGPT: The New Contractor Lead Channel
In July 2026, Yelp signed a data licensing deal with OpenAI. Yelp ratings, reviews, photos, and business details now feed ChatGPT when someone asks for a local contractor. The deal covers 330 million reviews and more than 8 million business listings.
The partnership was first reported by Axios: Yelp partners with OpenAI to surface reviews in ChatGPT .

What this means for contractors specifically
A homeowner asks ChatGPT for a roofer in their area. ChatGPT answers using Yelp data. If your Yelp profile is thin, inactive, or missing, you are not in that answer. Your competitor is.
This is not a future problem. It is running right now, and most contractors have not touched their Yelp profile in years.

Request a Quote inside ChatGPT
Yelp began rolling out its Request a Quote feature inside ChatGPT in August 2026. A homeowner can now go from asking ChatGPT for a contractor to requesting a quote without ever leaving the conversation.
Rollout is still early and availability varies by business, so treat this as an emerging lead source rather than a channel that is fully live everywhere. The contractors who have their Yelp profile in order are the ones positioned to catch it as it expands.

Why Yelp and not another directory
Independent research shows Yelp holds a 3.4x citation lead over the next closest platform across ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode, and Perplexity. AI platforms did not build local datasets from scratch. They licensed the one that already existed and already had trust attached to it.
For contractors, that makes Yelp a required channel, not an optional one.
The 5 Contractor Trades We Specialize In
Each trade also has its own Yelp category structure, which matters more now that ChatGPT pulls contractor recommendations from Yelp data.

Real Results From Real Contractors
We work with contractors at both ends of the business lifecycle. The work looks different depending on where you are starting.

Established contractor: Della-Mora Heating and Air Conditioning
Della-Mora came to us after a nationwide agency spent months on their account with no real results. Their profile was not showing in the top 3% of the Map Pack in East Chula Vista, the residential corridor where their highest-value HVAC jobs come from.
Their Google Business Profile now ranks 2nd in Rancho del Rey and 3rd in Otay Ranch. The website ranks on page one of organic results for commercial HVAC in Chula Vista. On the Yelp side, we grew their leads 172% month over month in July after restructuring their ad strategy.

New contractor: Almighty Roofing
Alberto spent 20 years working on roofs before getting his contractor license and launching Almighty Roofing this year. The skill was never the question. Visibility was. A brand new business has no profile, no reviews, no citations, and no search history.
We built his Google Business Profile, his website, and his full online presence from zero. The business now looks as established online as his 20 years of experience actually are.
If you are just getting licensed, you are not behind. You are starting clean, which is often easier than fixing years of inconsistent listings.
How to Get Started

Every contractor we work with starts with a free audit.
We look at your current Google Business Profile, your Yelp page, your website, and where your competitors are ranking against you. You get it in writing within two business days, with a link to book a free 30-minute call if you want to walk through it together.
Most contractors read the report first and decide from there.
